The 2017 season ended with a Great Smoky Mountains National Park hike. Fires from 2016 would have a huge impact. Ultimately, I had to bail.

I kicked off the 2022 hiking season in late March with my fourth backpacking trip to iconic Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We did a 3-day, 2-night, 22-mile hike in the Elmont area of the park.
